Scenic
Bird Food Feeding Directions - Lory

Feeding
Directions and Converstion Protocol
Dry Lory Food is a very versatile food. Scenic manufacturing
produces a food that will reduce the amount of moisture required
to feed your bird, resulting in a cleaner, safer environment.
Dry Lory Food also allows your pet to mimic its natural feeding
behavior.
Follow
some of these suggestions:
Use
Lory Powder to convert birds that are eating LNS based stews.
Before mixing the powder with your pet's favorite
meal, acclimate your bird toa reduced quantity of LNS and increase
the amount of other dry food items offered. Start by adding
two (2) teaspoons of Dry Lory Food powder to a food dish anchored
near the water source. Your bird will sample the food and then
dip its tongue in water. This is normal.
Closely
monitor your bird's water quality and quantity. Add more water
after morning feeding if level becomes low and replace the
water after morning feeding if it becomes contaminated during
the day.
Continue
to reduce the amount of LNS offered daily as long as your bird
maintains body weight and there is evidence the powder is being
consistently consumed.
Once
your pet is transitioned to the powder, add the powder to the
bird's feed pan along with other food items. You can offer
your pet the dry powder or the dry pellet to eat. In addition
to drying up your pet's droppings this will also make cleaning
up a breeze and allow you to reduce the feedings to one per
day.
If
mixed with these stews, Lory Food should be more than half your
birds total food consumption measured by volume. Your goal is
to have your bird eat a mixture of 50 % of other foods (for variety)
and 50 % Dry Lory Food. This may vary day by day or even month
to month at different times of the year and in response to other
environmental and social changes.
Use
Lory pellets the same way. The pellets will add interest to
your pet's favorite stew and keep their shape!
Once
converted, your pet will consume about ten (10) grams or one
tablespoon of Dry Lory Food per day, regardless of its weight
or its size. This may vary day by day or month to month at
different times of the year and in response to other environmental
and social changes.
Always
have fresh drinking water available.
Always
monitor your bird's eating behavior, weigh your bird often,
and make
sure
your pet is eating Dry Lory Food. (See
White Paper.)
